| The chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the business climate and making our community the best place to live, work and play. Founded 45 years ago, your Chamber is a highly proactive and visible influence in Calhoun County and the Texas Gulf Coast region. The ultimate task of the Chamber is Economic Development. Not only do we work to bring new business into our rapidly growing county, we also strive to ensure our existing businesses thrive and that newcomers and visitors recognize what Port Lavaca has to offer. As such, the Convention and Visitors Bureau operates under the umbrella of the Chamber. As part of our dedication to the community, we manage the Festival of Lights Parade and Pageant, Business and Industry Awards, the Business Expo,the Commercial Building at the Fair, the Flip Flop Festival, Business to Business Luncheons. We have several professional fishing tournaments that we bring to Port Lavaca. These tournaments bring out of town people to our great town.We are working toward promoting tourism in Port Lavaca. The Chamber also works diligently with our elected officials to make sure the interests of the business community are taken into account when public policy decisions are made.We are working to bring more Social Newtworking Seminars and Leadership Classes for our business to learn new ways to grow and become more successful.
